Death: meaning, reversed, love & career
Death means the definite end of a chapter, and almost never physical death. It marks a transition that has already begun and cannot be reversed — a role, an identity, a relationship completing. Upright it is a clean ending; reversed it is resistance to one, and the exhaustion that resistance costs.
Upright
It is over, and the sooner you agree, the less it costs. Death is the kindest of the endings cards because it is decisive.
Reversed
You are maintaining something that has already finished. Reversed, the card describes the effort of pretending, not a reprieve.
In love
A relationship or a version of one concluding. For couples, the end of a dynamic rather than the bond; for singles, closing a chapter you have outgrown.
In work & money
Leaving, or being left by, a role that no longer fits. Frequently a career identity ending rather than a job.
